Old House/New House – new work by Sarah Drage Olson
Sarah Drage Olson lives and works in the Upper Valley, but she is a recent transplant to the area from the Midwest. Mostly self-taught, she has been painting and drawing (to greater and lesser effect) throughout her entire life. Her favorite media are acrylics and pastels. She splits her free time between visual art and her research on Renaissance revenge tragedies.

Programming for Adults
Shirley Jackson Book Discussion Series
Join NPL staff for a three-part book club focused on Shirley Jackson, the mid-century Vermont author best known for her horror writing. You may have read her short story “The Lottery” in school, but have you dipped into her surprisingly hilarious memoirs? This discussion series will cover all genres of Jackson’s writing:
October: We Have Always Lived in the Castle, a witchy novel of obsession narrated by an unhinged teenage
November: Life Among the Savages, a comedic memoir of Jackson’s life in North Bennington with four precocious children
December: a selection of short stories TBD
Copies of the books will be available at NPL a few weeks prior to that month’s discussion. Please ask at the circulation desk if you’d like to check one out.
