Community Art Exhibit: Two Paths ~ One Place, Dierdre E. Dennis & Jim Gardner

From Dierdre E. Dennis:
“This exhibit, Two Paths ~ One Place, showcases my recently completed series, of fifteen
acrylic paintings, depicting the transition from painting Vermont farms in winter, where
deeply layered snow is the predominant feature; to more urban landscapes, where
structures fill the canvas with their vibrant and often saturated colors.
The angular shapes of buildings, with their often-odd number of windows, their shadowed,
or snow-covered rooflines, along with the intentional height and sculptural quality of the
layered paint are the key elements I employ, as I think about what I want to say in a
painting.”

From Jim Gardner:
“As an artist, Jim is largely self taught. His early work in cartoons led to drawing and painting. Landscapes, inspired by rocks and trees, ledges and water, sand and sky – with a few human scuff marks – have become his dominant subject. Jim inhabits the backcountry of Vershire Heights, well above the valley fog line. This remote land is the lair of the raucous raven and Wile E. Coyote.”
