Summer Reading 2022

Reading in all its forms can transport you to real and imaginary places. Summer is a great time to read what you like, to learn new things, and share stories with friends and family. Check out all the information below to learn about how your library is celebrating summer.

Summer Book Recommendations

We’re thinking up some suggestions. Watch this space!


Watercress and Family. Tuesday, July 5 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Paint a picture of what family means to you on a banner and then join us on June 13th at 1:00 pm for a parade celebrating our families!

Paper Airplanes. Tuesday, July 12 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm & Friday, July 15 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Create a variety of different paper airplanes and put them to the test. How far can they fly? All ages welcome.

Family Parade Day. Wednesday, July 13 from 12:00 – 1:15 pm. Bring a picnic lunch (we’ll provide the cold drinks!) starting at noon before we parade our family banners on a short march through town. Didn’t make it to our banner making but still want to participate? We’ll have supplies for you to create a picture of what family means to you to join the fun!

Stuffed Animal Sleepover. Thursday, July 14 at 6:00 pm. Bring a stuffie to the library and have it spend the night! We’ll share a few bedtime stories, tuck in our stuffies, and see what kind of mischief they get into overnight. Pick up your stuffie the next day!

Raina Telgemeier Party. Monday, July 18 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm. Celebrate your favorite graphic novels like Smile, Sisters, Guts, and the BabySitters Club with crafts, games, and other activities.

Watercress and Watercolors. Tuesday, July 19 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and Friday, July 22nd from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Draw inspiration from Watercress and create your own mini watercolor. We’ll provide the supplies, you provide the creativity! (Music on Friday?) All ages welcome and please note multiple dates for this event.

All Kinds of Games! Tuesday, July 26 from 11:00 – 1:00 pm and Friday, July 29 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. We’ll bring out a variety of games for you to play and explore. All ages welcome.

Nintendo Switch Party. Thursday, July 28 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Put your skills to the test as we break out our brand new Switch! Snacks provided.

Family Fort Night. Thursday, August 11 from 6:45 – 7:45 pm. Did you finish the summer reading chart? Bring your coziest blankets and your fluffiest pillows to create a forth at the library and celebrate the near-end of summer. RSVP by Tuesday, July 9 by emailing us at

Summer Reading Chart

Read for fun all summer long and complete our chart filled with all kinds of fun activities.

You can pick up a chart at the library or print your own from home. Charts must be turned in by July 31st. Finishers are invited to Family Fort Night and will receive a small prize at the event. If you’re unable to attend, prizes will be available for pick-up starting August 12th.
