Reading Challenges, Summer Reading

Summer Reading ’21: Learning By Degrees

This summer we invite you to read, listen, visit and discover with us.

We’re learning by degrees, because a little something each day can add up to something big. We will log our reading through Beanstack, provide suggested trips around our beautiful state and have opportunities for connection and fun in our garden. Join us.

Summer Reading Challenge on Beanstack

The Summer Reading Challenge: Learning by Degrees runs from June 21 through August 15. As with last Summer’s Just 20, this will be a points based challenge focusing on reading and exploring both within local confines and farther afield. While activity tracks will include suggestions for online activities to explore; this year we are excited to offer suggestions and opportunities for in-person engagement.

Sign up to join in the fun! When you so so by July 1, you will be entered in a raffle for a $25 Norwich Bookstore gift card.

Summer Reading Events @ NPL

Kick-Off Event: Monday, June 21

Join us as we kick-off summer reading, learning, and being together in our lovely outdoor space!

Meet us in the garden behind the library at 3PM to enjoy a sweet, cool treat, catch-up on what we have been reading and doing, and creating our banners in preparation for our mini-parade at 4PM! Banners/flags and fabric markers will be provided. Feel free to make your banners in advance with your own materials or ask us for a flag and markers to pick up at the Library’s curbside service.

Bring your own small instrument or noisemaker for the parade. We will also have some small percussion available to lend.

All ages are welcome and will have an opportunity to sign-up for our Summer Reading Program: Learning by Degrees via Beanstack. Paper logs to record reading will also be available.
