On Display: “Landscapes and Light: National Parks, Public Lands & Vermont”

About the artist: Joan Hoffmann oil paints impressionistic landscapes. She paints, exhibits and teaches painting classes at AVA, Artistree, Sierra Nevada Field Campus, CA and in Bluff, UT. National Park and Public Lands inspire and challenge her. She has been an artist-in-residence in Yosemite (2005), Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller NHP (2016), Zion (2019), and Crater Lake (2022). She exhibits from her studio (open by appointment), Cow Canyon Trading Post, Bluff, UT.

Artist Statement: “I paint outdoors on location and I look for the light. Capturing the feel of the air which binds a landscape is my goal. Landscapes represent connections and community. My paintings evoke a poetic sense of place.”
