January Happenings for Kids at NPL

Check out what the new year is bringing for the kiddos!

NPL for Kids: Subscribe to our YouTube channel* or like us on Facebook to watch a recording of a story, song, or some good book recommendations every Monday starting January 10.
*Due to publisher guidelines, all videos containing books read aloud will only we available via Facebook or Wowbrary.

Recycle Rainbow: Help decorate the youth services department for the cold winter months with weekly craft challenges! Monday, January 10th we’ll have rainbow scratch art snowflakes, snowpeople, and mittens in the display case and every Monday after that it will be filled with craft supplies of one color for you to take and make something beautiful to be hung up in the library. You can add supplies from your home as long as it matches the color of the week.

Pop Up Outside Family Fun: Keep your eye on the listserv and our Facebook page every Thursday during the month of January for an announcement about a surprise outdoor program in the garden. Maybe we’ll build snow sculptures, or paint the snow, or try and make the biggest snowperson in town…you’ll just have to wait and see!

Do you have kids interested in this year’s Battle of the Books? Erin will be participating in lunch time book clubs for 4th and 5th graders the second week of school. Check with Ms. Van Els for more details. NPL also owns copies of all of this year’s titles and can place holds for you!
