A change is coming up in how you access your library account online. Effective January 11th, your Koha login will switch from a user name to the barcode number found on the back of your library card.
The new login will create a more seamless integration between the library catalog and other library services. For example, if you’ve been borrowing audiobooks through Listen Up! Vermont, you’ll find that checking availability on and downloading those materials will be much simpler.
This change will not affect how you check out books at the library. It will only affect how you log in to your account online, whether to download electronic media, renew materials, or place holds.
It will also not affect your password. As always, you have complete control over your password, and no one else can ever see or change your password.
If you’re not sure what your barcode number is, just check the back of your library card: it’s 14 characters long and probably starts with 2NORP. You can also get your barcode number by visiting the library and inquiring at the circulation desk.
We’ve found that the new login makes using the library catalog simpler and more pleasant, and we hope that you will, too. If you have any questions about the upcoming change, please get in touch with us—we’re here to help.
