International Games Week 2019

International Games Week is November 3 – 9 this year! Join us as we promote the educational, recreational, and social value of games.

This is NPL’s 5th year of participation in IGW and we are happy to both bring back some old favorites and to try some new games. We hope that our robust schedule might have something to interest everyone, along with the provision of snacks!

Sunday, November 3, All day

Puzzles, puzzles – paper puzzles and the seasonal return of the collaborative jigsaw.

Monday, November 4, 3:30- 4:30 pm

Cooperative board games for the younger set (most fun for grades K-3) and their families.

Tuesday, November 5, 3:30 – 4:30 pm

LEGO make-and-take. Kids take home their creations!

Wednesday, November 6, 2:30 – 4:00 pm

Chess – all abilities, play with friends or learn the basics.

Thursday, November 7, 7:00 pm

RPGs – Role-players unite! Informal get-together for devotees of all ages. What’s new in the RPG universe? Perhaps we will try the Print-and Play RPG – Lasers and Feelings.

Friday, November 8, 3:30 – 5:00 pm

Wii Bowling goes Retro. Join us in our throwback-to-an-earlier-time Wii Bowling “alley”. Who will be the champion? Enjoy “retro” foods/snacks (but rest assured, no jello molds!).

Saturday, November 9, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

We are so excited to have Resonym, an independent developer of original board games, visit us to demo and play their original games! A family event, with a pizza lunch. RSVP to lisa.milchman@norwichlibrary.org, in order to ensure enough that we have sufficient pizza for all who want it.

Gamer or no – we look forward to seeing you in the Library this week!
