Remains to be Seen – assemblages, relief prints and collage, September 1 – October 30, 2015 by Lynda Knisley

Lynda Knisley’s barns are hidden within assemblages of shoe horns (silos), broken picture frames (roof tops), rusty buckles (windows) and piano keys (fence posts). There are scraps of battered wood and leather, clock parts, and generous amounts of crushed rust. A bent metal oddment reminds people of a cupola, but also of that “broken thing” rolling around in the bottom of their junk drawer at home. It definitely requires a big junk drawer to do justice to rural barns, but relief prints and paper collages contribute to the theme of this show as well.
