Mending Cafe

Mending Cafe is back in 2024! This monthly event is a community skills exchange plus a fun social gathering – all are welcome to come with a mending/sewing project to work on, whether a quick fix or a multi-step challenge. Need help? Come with questions! Are you an expert with a sewing skill or tip you could share? Let us know! Email

We’ll have sewing machines and other mending/sewing supplies on hand. Grab a mug of tea, have fun, make new connections, and walk away more comfortable with mending techniques that can help us all live more sustainably.

New this season: first half-hour will be devoted to a particular skill – darning, sewing buttons, etc. and general help will be available for the balance of cafe time.

Saturday, April 20th, 10 AM-12 PM | In the community room | Recurring on the 3rd Saturday of the month

Games for Grownups: Scrabble

Join friends and neighbors for a fun, energizing afternoon with a classic: Scrabble! Intended as an adults-only gathering. Author Event: Ann Aikens

Join us for a funny, uplifting reading and Q&A with Vermont author Ann Aikens. Her book, A Young Woman’s Guide to Life: A Cautionary Tale, is a darkly comical compilation of advice for young women – or anyone! Ann has written a serio-comic column entitled “Upper Valley Girl” for local newspapers since 1996, which has amused (and possibly appalled) readers with humor and candor.  Books available for inscribing via cash, check or PayPal.

Monday, April 29th, 5:30-6:30 PM | In the community room | All welcome!
