Downloadable audio & ebooks now available through ListenUp! Vermont. Hundreds of books for all ages are now available for download to your computers or mobile devices. All you need is an Internet connection and your library card number. Please call 649-1184 with questions.

The Library subscribes to several online databases that can be accessed from the library or from home!

  • Consumer Reports Online - Now it's possible to have 24/7 access to hundreds of product reviews.
    Username: norwichpublic
    Password: library (all lower case.)

  • Heritage Quest– A great resource for genealogical research. Please contact the library at 649-1184 for login information.

  • Mango (click here to access) - Traveling soon? NPL patrons can now practice conversational skills in one of over thirty languages online using the Mango Language program. Among the languages offered are Spanish, French, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, Greek, Italian, and Russian. Sign in, using your library card number.

  • Vermont Online Library - This collection of magazine, journal and newspaper indexes offer something for everyone. Enjoy full-text articles on subjects ranging from business to health. Read the full-text The New York Times free! These databases are for all ages, K-Adult. To access VOL, click on the link above and type in your NPL barcode (minus the last character) at the login page.

  • Universal Class (click here to access) – provided by the Vermont Department of Libraries. There patrons will find a staggering list of classes available, from career-building skills to personal enrichment--from business programs to spiritual studies, over 500 in all. The courses are taught by professionals, though the courses themselves are no-credit classes. Students have six months to complete the courses and can access their work online at any time.

    Check out the Universal Classes website for a complete list of course offerings and the logistics for accessing them. You will need your library card number to register.

  • World Book Online - This wonderful resource is now available online, ready to be searched night or day. Updated daily, this site is easy to navigate. To access World Book Online, click on the link above. At the log-in page type in the following information:
    Username: NORWICHLIB (all caps)
    Password: 1901VT
